Fixed Term / Secondment Opportunity until 31st May 2025 An opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 7 to apply for a temporary matrons role in CBU 2 for a period of approximately 5 months. This is to join the existing matron team; patches to be decided. You will be responsible for ensuring a quality service is delivered and maintained within the areas by being visible, providing clear and compassionate leadership and looking to support service development whilst collaborating with the multidisciplinary team and the patient voice. As this is a fixed term/secondment please ensure that you have the permission of your line manager to be released. Main duties of the job

The Matron will help support the Quality agenda and the Nursing leadership across the CBU. Ensuring that patients, relatives and carers receive the highest standard of care and best possible experience each and every time. Quality and Safety will be a strong focus for the matron ensuring that areas are staffed appropriately, cleanliness and infection control standards are at the highest standards and staff experience is also prioritised. Qualifications

1st Level Registered Nurse Demonstrate a current in-depth knowledge of the national nursing agenda Teaching qualification or demonstrable evidence of equivalent relevant experience Educated to degree level Educated to masters level or equivalent Has led or been part of a research project Trained in Root cause analysis Experience

Extensive experience of working at a senior level of band 7 or above within nursing/midwifery Experience of managing a ward or department Demonstrable experience of leading change & problem solving. Experience of standard setting and audit Experience of influencing in clinical practice Experience in undertaking research and/or publication. Knowledge and Awareness

Demonstrate specialist knowledge of clinical speciality underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience Current professional and health service priorities Clinical Governance and patient safety agendas Health and Safety Confidentiality Safeguarding knowledge In around 100 words please describe what Equality & Diversity means to you and why they are important. Tell us about a time when you were sensitive or compassionate to a patient or colleague in an emotional or tense situation Skills and Abilities
