Easter 2025 We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced

2nd in Charge of Design Technology

to join a vibrant school in the Reigate and Banstead district. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious DT teacher to step into a leadership role, working closely with the Head of Department to inspire pupils and drive innovation in teaching practices. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Head of Department in leading and managing the Design Technology team. Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to teach Key Stage 5. Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, implementing strategies to support and challenge learners effectively. Play a key role in curriculum development, ensuring lessons are creative, innovative, and aligned with national standards. Provide mentoring and support to colleagues within the department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team. Ensure the effective management of departmental resources and workshops, maintaining a safe and organised environment. Ideal Candidate: A qualified teacher with QTS and a degree in Design Technology or a related field. Proven experience teaching Design Technology across a range of year groups, with a track record of excellent outcomes. Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and support colleagues. A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and fostering a passion for Design Technology in pupils. A team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
