Retail About the Role: Our client, a leading organisation within the retail industry, is seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their IT team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems within the business. Key Responsibilities: Provide 2nd line technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Work closely with 1st line support to resolve escalated issues efficiently. Maintain and support IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and peripherals. Assist in the management of Active Directory, Office 365, and other core business applications. Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues. Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers for advanced technical support. Document technical processes, issue resolutions, and system configurations. Support IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations. Ensure adherence to IT security and compliance policies. Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience in a 2nd line support role within a retail or similar fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Office 365. Experience with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Familiarity with ITIL principles and best practices. Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues effectively. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment. Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL) are desirable.
