3D Generalist - Groundbreaking VR Education

Ref: 3DA Location: East London Type: Permanent Job Description:

A brilliant company operating in the VR space has recently been shortlisted as one of the Top 20 most innovative Edtech start-ups in the world and is expected to double in size this year. Their groundbreaking education and learning VR platform enables users to improve their soft skills such as public speaking, job interview techniques, and handling conflict. The company is pushing the boundaries and bringing new products to market. They’re now looking for a 3D Generalist to join the product team, creating avatars, animating characters, and overseeing environment art. You’ll take designers’ briefs and create semi-stylised low-polygon avatars that can be used in the in-game Unity engine from start to finish. You don’t need to be a great character designer as you’d initially be using their in-house pipeline that fuses generative AI technology, avatar generation software, and traditional modelling packages. However, you’ll need to create or adapt bespoke items like hair and clothing. You’ll expand and refine their library of motion-captured animations and, from time to time, may be asked to direct performance capture shoots or make them yourself using a variety of tools. They have a growing library of low-poly 3D environments and props for simulations, and you’ll be responsible for working alongside existing artists to supervise progress and quality. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced, fast-growing company. You also possess the following: 5+ years industry experience in games or real-time 3D engines Hard and soft-bodied modelling in industry-standard packages (Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, Substance, Z Brush, etc.) Character rigging and skinning Clean-up and retargeting of animation Optimisation and integration of art into game engines Any experience exporting and setting up character models in Unity and experience with Reallusion Character Creator would be a bonus. Working Model:

The working model is hybrid, i.e., 2-3 days in the London office, 2-3 remote. For inquiries, give us a call at 0203 1981 845 or drop us an email using the form below, and we’ll get back to you.
