3rd Line / IT Infrastructure Engineer (Contract) - Wakefield
My client is a leading Logistics company based in Wakefield. They're currently looking for a 3rd Line / Infrastructure Engineer to join them on an initial 4-month contract.
The majority of your time will be spent on infrastructure support & project work and assisting the Group IT manager in more complex operational planning and implementation. Typical end-user IT support will form a small aspect of your role (approximately 20%).

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement business apps and IT solutions using tools such as Microsoft PowerApps, PowerFX, and Power Automate. Manage and support network infrastructure, including DHCP, DNS, VLANs, WiFi systems, and routing, including Firewall rules. Provide support for virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V, Azure) and server environments (Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Powershell). Perform desktop support and manage PXE machine deployments. Assist in database management (SQL or similar). Participate in IT infrastructure projects across multiple sites, contributing to the evaluation of solutions and suggesting optimal approaches. Write and maintain clear, concise technical documentation.
Skills and Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar IT support or infrastructure role, at 3rd line level or demonstrable similar experience. Proficiency in networking (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, WiFi, routing) and virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, Azure). Familiarity with PowerApps (Power Apps), PowerFX, Power Automate and process automation. Experience with server administration (Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, Powershell). Knowledge of databases (SQL or similar) and desktop support, including PXE machine deployment. Excellent attention to detail, especially in design and documentation writing. Experience of Exchange 365 / Microsoft Defender or similar technologies, or willingness to learn.
