CRANSWICK COUNTRY FOODS PRESTON IN HULL ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND ITS DAYS AND ARE LOOKING TO RECRUIT FOR ABATTOIR OPERATIVES / SLAUGHTER MEN - MONDAY TO FRIDAY
We are recruiting on behalf of our client Cranswick Country Foods Preston, HU12 Area, Hull. Our client is a leading UK food producer that produces and supplies premium food to high-profile UK grocer retailers, the food service sector, and other UK and global customers. They have an ambitious investment programme focused on market-leading technologies and site infrastructure. This, combined with the skill of their teams, ensures that they are consistently and efficiently delivering for their customers. Their state-of-the-art facility is also home to their trading and export team, who sell their expertly butchered pork across the world. With all that in mind, our client is looking to expand the DAYS team and have numerous immediate opportunities for Abattoir Operatives/Slaughter men for full-time work Monday to Friday. Our client is searching for successful candidates that are reliable, flexible, self-motivated, and hardworking, which could lead to a permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities include:
Operating switching controls to direct and drop carcasses and meat cuts from supply rails to boning tables.
Cutting meat to separate meat, fat, and tissue from around bones.
Washing, scraping, and trimming foreign material and blood from meat.
Cutting sides and quarters of meat into standard meat cuts, such as rumps, flanks, and shoulders, and removing internal fat, blood clots, bruises, and other matter to prepare them for packing and marketing.
Operating restrainer and stunning equipment.
Severing jugular veins of stunned animals to drain blood and facilitate dressing.
Trimming and removing head meat and severing animal heads.
Slitting open, eviscerating, and trimming animal carcasses.
May slaughter livestock according to procedures required by religious customs.

DOE and grade. Overtime payable for hours worked over 40 hours ( up to £23.23 per hour for top grade slaughter men ). Attendance bonus of
£1 per hour . Working Hours:
7.30am till 6pm . Immediate starts following completion of registration and induction. Free on-site parking. Canteen facilities. Friendly and supporting working environment with onsite assistance of a Prestige rep. Training and career progression. Opportunity of a permanent contract.
