Opportunity overview We are looking for an engaging and confident individual to play an important role in the work of the University of Salford’s Quality Management Office and support its day-to-day activities in providing an excellent service in its area of responsibilities. As an Academic Quality Officer, you will be part of a specialist professional services team to ensure all academic quality assurance and regulatory compliance processes are understood and implemented throughout the University. Your role will involve acting as a business partner for a specific School, providing advice and guidance and taking responsibility for key aspects of academic quality policies and processes contained within the University’s Academic Handbook. Key responsibilities

Provide professional advice and guidance on the University’s Academic Regulations and Policies/Procedures within the Academic Handbook to staff, students and external parties including staff at collaborative partner organisations. Using specialist knowledge, implement and support the University’s Programme Validation and Review Policy, Student Casework Procedures and External Examining for Taught Programmes Policy, for both on campus and collaborative provision, through the provision of professional advice and guidance to students, staff, External Advisers and External Examiners. Provide high level and proactive support for the preparation of external accreditation visits and inspections, including PSRBs, Ofsted and the Office for Students, to ensure submissions meet required standards. Provide a pro-active and professional support service to University’s Academic Governance Committees and participate in working groups and academic audits as required. You will join a friendly and welcoming team within the QMO. Our work encompasses programme validation, monitoring and review, external examining, student casework, apprenticeships provision, academic committee management and collaborative academic partnerships. We ensure that academic regulations and quality assurance policies and procedures are robust and effective in securing and monitoring the standards of academic awards and that they are understood and implemented throughout the University. We also support academic colleagues in establishing targets to improve programme performance, as well as undertaking academic audits to determine compliance with internal and external requirements.
