Full time, Permanent Salary:

£26,478 per annum Hours:

35 hours per week (+ 5 hours paid lunch) Location:

HMP Nottingham About Nacro We believe that for people who end up in prison, it should be the start of somewhere better – not a road to nowhere. We don’t just talk about positive social change at Nacro. We do it every day: challenging unfairness, breaking down barriers, and giving some of the most vulnerable people the best chance at a second chance. Do you want a career that makes a real difference to peoples’ lives? Do you want to work for an organisation that will invest in your personal development? You’ve come to the right place! Join our growing team of Accommodation Advisors in the East Midlands. What do our Accommodation Advisors do? Working in partnership with the Prison and Probation Service, you’ll work with a caseload of adult males in custody to provide advice and support relevant to their housing needs. You’ll carry out initial assessments to understand each person’s specific needs to agree a tailored action plan. This may include the provision of support to end or sustain a tenancy, find accommodation or basic budgeting advice and liaison with other agencies. You’ll provide support face to face with individuals and groups. Who are we looking for? You will need to be a great communicator, enjoy working in a busy people-focused role, and be organised and solution-focused. The right candidate can engage others and is non-judgmental. You will bring with you integrity, a proactive attitude, and good ICT skills (MS Office including Excel and custom databases). Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in the criminal justice sector and some knowledge of homelessness legislation; however, we will provide you with the relevant training and support required for the job. If you want to work as part of a dynamic supportive team who delivers results for the people we support every day, Nacro could be the place for you. At Nacro, we believe in the power of a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including those with criminal records and those with first-hand experience of the criminal justice system. All applications are assessed on merit. Vetting Requirements Due to working with adults in a custodial setting, this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check against the adult workforce and Enhanced Level 1 HMPPS prison clearance. Having a criminal record will not preclude your success in this role; any criminal record information will be subject to a fair and proportionate assessment. If you would like advice about applying for work with a criminal record, please contact our confidential Criminal Record Support Service on 0300 123 1999 or by email at helpline@nacro.org.uk. Please apply online. Job Types:
