There are also occasional Saturday workshops – max 3 per year. Apart from accompanying a variety of musical styles and periods, the accompanist will take sectional rehearsals and stand in for the conductor on occasions. to: LCC Chairman,

chairman@londonconcertchoir.org . Position starts September 2025. LCC Accompanist

Main duties

To accompany the choir at rehearsals (normally Mondays 7:15pm -9:30pm). To accompany the choir at Saturday workshops (max. 1 per term). To take sectional rehearsals. To deputise for Mark Forkgen, LCC Music Director, in his absence. To play piano/organ in concerts as and when required. To rehearse the choir for any occasional paid outside engagements. General points

The accompanist has an important role to play both in supporting the work of the conductor in every way he/she can, and to act as a positive musical influence on the choir in all the work he/she undertakes. It is accepted that exceptional circumstances may arise when the accompanist may not be available on a Monday. On such occasions he/she will arrange a deputy in consultation with Mark Forkgen. It is not expected that such occasions will arise more than a few times each term. The choir undertakes occasional overseas or UK tours (every 2-3 years) and the accompanist should be available to accompany the choir if required. We welcome the participation of the accompanist in any of the occasional social activities of the choir. Remuneration

The current remuneration for the main weekly rehearsals is £135. An enhanced rate is payable if deputising for Mark Forkgen, Saturday workshops and performances. Payments will be made monthly by BACS transfer at the end of each month. Notice

The notice period on both sides is one LCC term, to be given in writing not later than the first rehearsal of a term.
