Position Description
The UK & Ireland sales team at QIAGEN are based throughout the UK, working from home offices and travelling to support customers within different geographic regions. Our Life Science sales team work with Academia and Biotech customers to facilitate a customer-centric service and provide them with Sample to Insight solutions. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join the team and drive and grow sales across the QIAGEN portfolio across the North West, Yorkshire and Midlands territory.
The Account Manager will be key in shaping and aligning customer requirements with the ideal QIAGEN solutions. You will be responsible for protecting, growing and proactively searching for new business within the assigned territory for Life Sciences.
Key responsibilities:
Budget achievement within the assigned territory, requiring a high level of business development experience, including the implementation of strategic business plans.
Clearly identify and interpret customer needs, shape and align their requirements to the capabilities of QIAGEN.
Support customers throughout the product lifecycle and provide customer demonstrations and training when needed.
Effective weekly and monthly planning of field-based activities, providing accurate sales forecasts to sales manager.
Maintain and expand Life Sciences market knowledge including life science technology trends and latest scientific findings.
Position Requirements
Minimum Bachelor of Science, PhD or equivalent laboratory experience advantageous. A strong background in Life Sciences and a well-developed technical aptitude in modern molecular procedures is essential.
Relevant sales experience essential, with a demonstrable understanding of business practice in the Life Science industry.
Experience in handling complex sales and proven experience of selling techniques to drive closing sales.
Must have experience of working well under pressure, prioritising according to the needs of customers and overall business.
Located within the North West, Yorkshire or Midlands with a willingness to travel to customer sites 80% of the time.
