Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at RAF Croughton on an intermittent schedule. In this role, you will provide essential financial and administrative support to ensure mission success. Flexibility is key, as weekly work hours will vary based on mission needs. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (i.e., Tier 1 Level) is required. This job is open to The public: U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Performs double-entry accrual accounting work in order to maintain a combination of journals and ledgers. Examines, verifies, and analyzes a variety of documents to determine their mathematical correctness, validity, and clerical accuracy. Documents may include purchase orders, vouchers, payrolls, property records, etc., which are complicated by discounts, partial payments, etc. Resolves disagreements by contacting vendor, completes posting documents with backup attached, codes documents, and posts to appropriate ledger or journal. Posts and totals general ledger accounts each month. Prepares worksheets, statements, and closes accounts. Prepares reports monthly, quarterly, and annually, reflecting the financial condition of activities serviced by the accounting unit. Requirements This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Qualifications Who May Apply:

Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME): Experience in work which provided a knowledge of double entry accounting procedures and techniques. Knowledge of procedures used to enter, modify, retrieve and delete information in an automated general ledger system. The ability to analyze the interrelationship of accounts that are affected by varied transactions. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
