Are you someone who has experience of financial reporting or investment accounting, with a keen interest in Financial markets and would like to further develop in this area? Our Investment Operations team is expanding and we're looking for an Investment Reporting Specialist to join us in this venture.
A bit about the job:
With circa. £400bn of investment assets across the group, the Investment reporting team provide several critical services to the Aviva markets. The teams core service proposition for investment assets includes performing statutory and regulatory reporting (IFRS & Solvency II), provision of data to key stakeholders including Actuarial, ALM and Tax, credit risk reporting and managing the delivery of investment change portfolio.
The team also acts as a key SME function for queries in respect of investment assets or investment data.
As our colleague in the team, you will be responsible for performing and delivering the financial reporting processes within the investment reporting team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial statements, regulatory reports, and management information.
This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting strategic decision-making within the insurance company.
You will also:
Operate controls effectively over the accounting outputs to mitigate any relevant risks, acting where necessary to rectify ineffective controls and bring associated risks within appetite. Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures in accordance with IFRS or Solvency II. Collaborate with the investment team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of investment activities. Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders, as needed to unblock issues and take relevant decisions. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting. Skills and experience we're looking for: Strong Excel skills, Oracle would be a bonus. Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Understanding of investment instruments and the investment lifecycle from trade to reporting and what each organisation is responsible for. Ability to work at pace on large datasets, strong analytical skills, accuracy and diligence. Hands-on experience with investment operations or a back office environment would be preferred.
