This role will support the Assistant Accountant in producing accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information to enable senior management to make better decisions. It is the responsibility of the Accounts Assistant to contribute to the company by seeking administrative work from the Office Manager where work for the Finance Team is up to date. Responsibilities: Process and record transactions
Reconcile time on freelance invoices to time recorded in Harvest and only post freelance invoices to Xero once they have been approved. Post and upload purchase invoices to Xero. Process all purchase invoices for payment only once they have been approved by the authorised person. Process all expense claims, ensuring there are receipts in all cases. Process all debit and credit card expenditure, ensuring there are receipts in all cases. Set up supplier payments on the online banking system once they have been approved for payment. Maintenance and control of the financial records
Support the completion of timesheets by operational staff. Support the Assistant Accountant with the day-to-day accounting processes. Take responsibility for the correct coding of purchase invoices, expense claims, and credit card expenditure. Project work
Carry out analysis of the financial data, as required by the Assistant Accountant, Finance Director, or Directors of the company. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Where Finance tasks are up to date and you have spare capacity, maximise your contribution to the business by seeking out administrative work from Operations and HR. Storage and maintenance of accounting records. Maintain proper filing and storage systems for efficient retrieval of accounting records. Cover for the Finance team. Provide cover for the absence of other members of the Finance Team, including the Assistant Accountant, where required and reasonable. Other
