Location: York, Norwich, Bristol or Perth This role is a great new opportunity for an accomplished professional in Accounts Payable who combines strong technical knowledge, leadership skills and transformation experience within a Shared Service Centre environment. Our new colleague will have experience managing large teams and is used to dealing with substantial transaction volumes. You will have good system skills, including Oracle, and the ability to assess as is and identify and drive forward areas of enhancement within payment processes and controls. A bit about the job: Aviva’s Finance Operations Team is a core part of the Group Financial Controller Function, acting as a shared service centre of excellence, supporting all Aviva markets. The role of Accounts Payable Manager will report into the Head of Finance Operations. As Accounts Payable (‘AP’) Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing and controls of all procedures relating to Aviva’s Finance Operations Team’s AP function including direct and indirect invoice processing and personal expense payments. Including the management of internal customers and external supplier queries, ensure timely, accurate payments and deliver accurate period-end reporting. You will also lead the creation of a roadmap to transform and deliver enhanced service and control, balancing business transformation impacting AP and overseeing the delivery of the services of the AP team within Service Level Agreements (‘SLA’s). You’ll be responsible for a large train your on and offshore teams, to develop and maintain a high-performance culture. Key responsibilities of the role include: Manage invoice processing and ensure timely and accurate payments Responsible for the Accounts Payable control environment Oversight of the team’s performance versus SLA Delivery of business transformation impacting Accounts Payable Support strategic thinking into AP function, develop a strategic roadmap for service enhancement and drive forward improvements to process and control MI analysis and reporting in relation to the Accounts Payable function. Oversee the month-end close process Responsible for team performance reviews and development team members. Skills and experience we’re looking for: Extensive experience leading an Accounts Payable function within a sizeable financial services business, including strong technical accounting knowledge. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with high stakeholder demand, excellent interpersonal skills. Strong focus on risk and controls. Strong analytical skills to use MI to drive team performance. Experience delivering transformation projects within Accounts Payable and market insight. What you’ll get for this role: Salary around £65,000 - £75,000 - depending on skills, experience, and qualifications Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
