The Accounts Receivable function is responsible for providing a first-class service to the entire UK business. The team is focused on reducing debt through credit control activities and improving our overall working capital position. We are looking for an individual who is up for a challenge and is keen to make an impact. The Accounts Receivable Team Leader will report to the Head of the department. You will be focused on improving debt collection and ensuring billings are done on a timely basis. You will contribute to managing the UK group’s debtor book ensuring that aged debt is managed effectively, and DSO targets are met. You will be working closely with the operational and finance teams as well as directly with our clients across the globe collecting debt and billing. The role is broad, challenging and rewarding. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the SIUK Accounts Receivable team, conducting regular 121s, debt reviews and team meetings. The Accounts Receivable Team Leader will provide mentoring, guidance and support to the Accounts Receivable Controllers and Assistants, sharing their experience to assist them in resolving queries and improving efficiencies across the team. The Accounts Receivable Team Leader will require the gravitas to deal with issues and be responsible for the team’s overall performance whilst understanding when to escalate to the Head of AR. Responsibilities of the role include: Manage a team of Credit Controllers & Assistants Conduct regular 121s and debt reviews. Track cash collections for the team and measure performance. Work to procedures and processes for the Accounts Receivable team. Ensure billing transactions, including invoicing, refunds, credits, and write-offs are completed in a timely manner to provide excellent service to clients and the operational and Finance teams. Ensure month-end activities are delivered in line with the Group financial reporting calendar and support the AR Manager with month-end reporting. Maintain an excellent relationship with clients and operational teams for the purpose of information gathering for credit control, reporting, and billing. Using strong problem-solving skills, support the team to reduce overall debt, with a focus on the over 30 days aged debt, improve cash flow and liaise across Sedgwick International UK to come up with innovative ideas and processes to reduce aged debt and debtor day figures. Manage workload to achieve both billing and cash collections targets to ensure both areas receive appropriate attention to reduce the overall DSO position. You will have/will be: Educated to at least 5 GCSE/GCE at A-C grades, including Maths. Experience in billing & credit. Technical competencies in Excel & Word. Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage. Able to work to targets, be self-motivated, focused, assertive and able to work in a team. Excellent communication skills via all appropriate media. What will you get for this role?
