This is an exciting opportunity to join an independent firm of chartered accountants based in London who are expanding into the Scottish market. This firm is experiencing high levels of growth in the Scottish market and so is looking to establish a branch in Glasgow to meet this growing demand. Providing a range of services from accounts, audit, tax, and advisory, the firm aims to provide a high-quality and personalised experience to their clients.
Your new role You will be serving an existing client base of Scottish clients, mainly in the construction industry, while also looking to expand and bring in new clients. You will also be:
Managing a portfolio of clients. Preparation and computation of self-assessment returns. Handling VAT and corporation tax returns. Working with spreadsheets, sales ledgers, and journals. Payroll administration. Bank reconciliations and payment advice. Personal and company tax planning activities. General administrative duties.
What you'll need to succeed This role requires an individual who can work independently and proactively. This is because, as the firm enters the market, you will be the only person in the Scottish office for a short period of time as they seek to expand.
Full or Part-Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, ICAEW, etc.). Prior experience working in a CA firm. Ability to work from the office. Strong organisational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
