Acoustics Engineer 5-month initial contract (renewal/s expected) Hybrid working - Crewe (onsite when required, with occasional travel) Outside IR35, 35 hours per week (OT available) *Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.* About the company I am currently recruiting on behalf of a British Automotive OEM, based in Crewe, who are seeking an Acoustics Engineer to join their team. Job Description As Acoustics Engineer, your main responsibilities include: Support attribute target setting, through competitor benchmarking and analysis. Responsible for development of squeak & rattle attribute, to ensure whole vehicle attribute performance targets are delivered on time, to budget and in-line with quality standards. Leading complex squeak & rattle problem solving activities, through issues detection, RCA and countermeasure development, to deliver balanced design recommendations. Ownership of concerns management process, ensuring effective delivery and implementation of solutions through the design functions. Responsible for delivery of squeak & rattle test and analysis on current projects, using test rigs and proving grounds. Collaborative working with other teams and departments, to ensure attribute standards are delivered consistently across the business. Qualifications / Skills needed Product or Attribute development and delivery experience. Experience in component, system and whole vehicle level technical specs and design critique. Experience in physical and/or virtual test and development (eg. Simulation, component & whole vehicle rigs, prototype test, static and dynamic test) Experience in complex concern analysis and root cause investigation. Subjective and objective evaluation skills incl. jury evaluation studies. Experience of documenting and presenting development/concern investigation status and countermeasure recommendations.
