Corporate Tax Manager

who is able to think outside the box and has a firm grasp of the needs of a diverse portfolio of clients to join our team in Mayfair (London) and become a team player working in coordination with the leadership team of the A.C.T. group. The key objectives of the role are: Act as a key point of contact and expert advisor for corporate tax matters, guiding clients on and preparing and filing their corporate tax affairs from a compliance perspective. Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, including the preparation of Corporation Tax Returns for a broad range of clients from privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses to multi-national firms. Support the wider tax team with corporate tax planning and other advisory matters. Play an active role in business development for the existing portfolio of clients. Prepare proposals and written advice across a range of topics including multi-jurisdictional tax compliance, cross-border transactions, UK inbound/outbound investments, international tax, UK tax due diligence, permanent establishments, CFC rules, tax residence, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate structuring. Significantly contribute to the overall future growth of the corporate tax team and the business. Be client-facing and work together with the Leadership Team. GENERAL Flag potential trouble spots to the leadership team. Respond quickly to, as well as anticipate client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided and maintaining regular contact with clients. Recognize and keep the leadership team informed about any new business opportunities for own and other departments arising on existing and new clients. Liaise with HMRC, clients, banks, and other professionals. Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and keep all parties informed of overruns. Ensure that the firm's quality control procedures are adhered to. Identify risk and technical matters while exercising judgment within agreed parameters. Provide overall compliance and technical support on client matters where required. Actively participate in bids/proposals for new work. Manage WIP and Billing process. Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a UK tax advisory and compliance department. ACA/ACCA qualified. CTA qualified advantageous; we are open to high-performing applicants with other relevant tax experience who hold a suitable foreign tax qualification. Specialist in Corporate Tax with a mix of compliance and advisory experience in a Top 10 network firm. Strong organizational skills. Fluency in at least one of the major European languages (Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, or Turkish) desired. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects to meet deadlines. Excellent level of Microsoft Office Suite, IRIS, Sage, FreeAgent, Xero, OneSource, Caseware, SAP. Sound knowledge of UK corporate and income taxation. Competencies Strong entrepreneurial streak and willingness to be part of a small team. Have a can-do attitude. Streetwise with superior negotiation skills and the confidence to challenge where required. Project management experience ideal. A self-starter, adaptable person with a problem-solving mentality and the confidence to challenge where required. Confidence to ask questions and/or seek solutions when required. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information. Outstanding organizational skills. Refined interpersonal skills, with the ability to form good working relationships with key clients, investors, and other parties including UHNWI, celebrities, and peers. Ability to remain firm yet polite and professional when dealing with difficult issues. Ability to work in a fast-paced international environment. Takes responsibility and accountability for own work. Works in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues, clients, and the wider community. Office-based 5 days a week. Salary up to £65K p.a.
