Establishing customer requirements and production of user requirement and technical specifications. Allocating resources appropriate to their skills, experience, and qualifications to execute engineering and design activities. Coordinating and supervising engineers and designers, and providing technical guidance in the planning and execution of engineering and design activities. Ensuring the technical quality of all engineering design deliverables and applied processes are undertaken in accordance with relevant company procedures. Conducting engineering studies, investigations, and producing reports. Ensuring projects are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner, in accordance with project budgets and programmes. Ideally a number of years working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) in roles reliant upon professional engineering judgement. Ideally some experience of working in a position where design was a major part of the role. Expertise demonstrable in one or more specific specialist areas relevant to the engineering discipline with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills. Ability to provide leadership in a key area within an engineering function and act as a custodian of resource and expertise. Engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including positions influencing professional engineers in the definition, implementation, and delivery of engineering work packages. Ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of projects across a portfolio to inform and direct projects and programmes.
