This is a supply role starting January 2024, running until Easter, with the potential to extend or even go permanent with the school.
The Role: Lead and Manage the Science Department:
Oversee curriculum planning, teaching quality, and departmental development to ensure outstanding outcomes. Inspire and Support Staff:
Provide leadership and mentorship to a dedicated team of Science teachers, fostering collaboration and professional growth. Deliver Excellence in Teaching:
Model high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (KS5 experience is highly desirable). Drive Student Achievement:
Champion innovative approaches to engage students and raise attainment in Science. Contribute to Whole-School Leadership:
Work closely with senior leadership to align the Science department’s goals with the school’s vision.
What We’re Looking For: Proven Experience:
A track record of excellence in teaching Science and leading teams, ideally with middle or senior leadership experience. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):
Essential, with a degree in a Science-related discipline. Leadership Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop staff and students alike. Passion for Science Education:
A commitment to making Science engaging, accessible, and relevant to all students.
