Job Description:
What will you be doing:
Working on a wide range of DB pensions projects for DB pensions clients and bulk annuity providers
Work includes:
- Benefit calculation audits
- Data validation/audits and improvement/creation projects
- Benefits and data due diligence
- Benefit correction/rectification exercises
- Benefit calculation proforma for administration teams to use on smaller clients
- Calculations testing (both doing calculations to test against automated results and using pensions knowledge to identify errors in/improve automated calculations)
- Benefit summary specification creation or review
- Documenting issues/results with clear communication style by email and phone
- Liaising with internal contacts across the wider pensions business
- Drafting consulting reports on projects, as required
- Working directly with actuaries and consultants within the GMP team and, if required, more widely within the actuarial department
- Liaising with administration teams to resolve identified issues in a pragmatic yet technically accurate way
- Providing an audit trail on all work activities
- Supporting the management of the team's workflow to achieve client delivery
- Taking responsibility for own learning and development, keeping up to date with pensions' regulatory developments
The team you will be joining tailor sustainable and pragmatic solutions that enable our clients to mitigate risks and plan for the future. You will be supported to learn and grow in a team of actuarial professionals and be supported with your studies and exams both financially and with time out for study and exams.
Your study for the actuarial exams will be supported financially, with study and exam leave and support for your colleagues and line manager

- Currently working in a pensions actuarial team ideally with GMP experience
- Excel skills - vlookups and macros
- Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and working towards becoming a qualified actuary or wanting to start the actuarial exams (with full study support available)
- Good team player, with excellent attitude and flexible approach to work
- Experience in using PFaroe actuarial software (preferable)
