Our teams are trusted as scheme actuaries to over 200 pension schemes, our actuarial services include advice on pensions strategy and funding position, regular valuations, journey planning, de-risking, GMP equalisation, and integrated risk management.

We are looking for a part qualified Actuarial Consultant to join our GMP team. This is a rapidly growing team and represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in GMP equalisation and other rectification projects.

GMP equalisation is currently a subject on the agenda for all Trustees’ meetings. This role represents an opportunity to be at the forefront of this area in a client facing role.

The primary purpose of the role is to assist in the provision of advice in relation to GMP equalisation and other rectification exercises and to deliver the results to clients.

Key duties / responsibilities: Working on client projects relating to GMP equalisation/conversion, NRA equalisation and other rectification projects with personal targets set, aligned to client delivery. Supervising, checking and signing off the work of junior team members providing coaching, mentoring and feedback to enhance quality of work and development of colleagues. Acting as the primary point of client contact on some projects. Attending client meetings. Supporting the management of the team’s workflow to achieve client delivery and providing a two way communication channel for the team to maximise motivation and team success.

What are we looking for: Qualifications: Currently studying for the actuarial exams (full study is available to complete your studies) or qualified by experience.

Skills required: Essential: Experience of working in an actuarial team ideally with GMP knowledge. Knowledge of benefits legislation and best practice. Good communication skills. Ability to work flexibly and able to work under pressure. Proactive. Desirable: Knowledge of PFaroe actuarial consulting software. Experience of working in an actuarial role in a pension’s consultancy.
