We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Acute Oncology CNS with strong clinical and leadership skills who is passionate about providing high quality care. We currently have an opportunity to develop your career within our Acute Oncology Nurse Specialist team and work with a highly skilled, motivated, and dynamic service to make a difference and improve the experience of patients with complications of systemic anti-cancer therapies and radiotherapy (early recognition, better treatment, early discharge). We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking individual who is flexible, self-motivated, and reliable, plus a good team player and leader to become a key member of the Acute Oncology Service here at the South West Wales Cancer Centre within the Swansea Bay Health board. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have expert knowledge and be willing to continue to develop their practice as part of the Acute Oncology Service covering Singleton and Morriston hospital. They will have a responsibility for the management of the Acute Oncology and Haematology Assessment Unit ensuring patient safety is maintained at all times, giving expert advice and maintaining patient flow. They will also be responsible for advising the Oncology and Haematology telephone triage line and will provide managerial oversight of the band 6 team of CNS. Qualifications & knowledge

Registered Nurse and current NMC Registration Master's Degree or equivalent experience Specialist qualifications Expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality Knowledge of service improvement Able to undertake a literature search and critically appraise research papers Awareness of current developments within the NHS Advanced clinical skills Non-medical Prescribing (v300) Essential aptitude and abilities

Able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills Able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others using good communication skills Evidence of undertaking presentations to groups Aware of professional issues and developments Able to manage time effectively Ability to use electronic systems - IT skills Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh Other essential

Ability to travel within geographical area. Able to work hours flexibly to ensure maximum visibility of ACNS team. Satisfactory Enhanced DBS clearance including an Adults and Childrens Barred List check Experience of participating in research Disclosure and Barring Service Check
