We are recruiting for an ADAS Project Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role that may run for several years.
Key Responsibilities of the ADAS Project Engineer:
Support/lead ADAS development project management role. Prepare material for and host key development milestone ADAS step reviews. Support issue resolution towards ADAS specification fix. Manage schedule of development and testing through to delivery for all ADAS components. Manage cost and application of all ADAS components. Support/lead ADAS component cost reduction activities. Generate cost reduction ideas for ADAS components. Manage testing and application schedule. Support/lead ADAS quality improvement activities. Identify key areas to improve ADAS systems and components. Find evaluation routes and gather scenario data. Share investigation results and proposals for improvement. Develop management documentation including changing content definition, schedules, results, DA, and review presentations for design and cost. Implement cost reduction ideas. Conduct quality study analysis and prepare investigation reports and proposals.
Qualifications & Experience for the ADAS Project Engineer:
Be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Have an understanding of vehicle AD/ADAS systems and their development. Fluent written and verbal English language capability. Experience of software application into vehicle ECUs in a manufacturing environment - flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration. Able to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans. Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Operate CANalyzer, CAPL, CANoe, CANape, Matlab software or similar for capturing data, analysis, and preparing/executing test procedures. Follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections. Demonstrate practical experience in problem-solving tools and techniques. Hold a valid UK driver's license and be able to pass driver training for ADAS evaluation.
Experience:
Relevant experience in automotive electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or equivalent experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to travel abroad or within the UK, occasionally for a few days, with rare long-distance travel for up to 10 weeks at short notice. Competent with PC applications, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Self-motivating and self-managing, with a pro-active and energetic personality. Ability to prioritize and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
