£13- £15 per hour.

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives by providing emotional support, academic guidance, and helping to build their self-confidence?

A welcoming and inclusive additional needs department within a large, supportive secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan is looking for a new team member! This is a fantastic opportunity to work with small classes of up to 15 students with learning difficulties, assisting them with core subjects, developing their life skills, and providing essential guidance and emotional support.

About you:

Experience working with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and behavioural challenges. Strong communication skills. Compassionate, caring, and patient. Adaptable and willing to support other departments when needed. Solid understanding of core subjects with excellent literacy skills. Comfortable working with small groups of students and providing lesson interventions. Minimum of A-levels or equivalent (Degree highly desirable but not essential).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact each day on the lives of teenagers who face challenges with schoolwork and social integration. Your responsibilities will include leading small group interventions and building strong connections with students through one-page profiles, weekly performance trackers, and personal development records. While you'll have continuous support from your team, the school is looking for someone proactive, confident, and capable of using their initiative to support the department effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
