This is an exciting time of development and expansion of the ADHD provision within Lewisham CAMHS. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Nurse Prescriber (or qualified prescribing equivalent) to work clinically and manage the small team. Clinically, the post holder will work as an ADHD nurse prescriber and manage a highly specialist service for children and young people with ADHD and co-occurring neurodiverse/mental health difficulties, contributing to specialist assessment & management and leading on co-ordinating the ADHD medication review clinics. Main duties of the job
The role includes: Providing leadership and management support to the ADHD medication review team to ensure access and flow are prioritised while maintaining own caseload. Managing a caseload, providing the analysis of complex information to determine the planning and management of assessment and treatment to C&YP with ADHD and co-occurring neurodiverse/mental health difficulties. Undertaking assessments, including ADHD assessments. Providing psychoeducation information sessions/groups. Offering expertise in this highly specialist clinical area and providing advice and consultation on clients' care to other members of the service. Liaising with medical colleagues, partner agencies, and adult mental health professionals across a range of settings. Working autonomously within professional practice guidelines and Trust guidelines. Contributing to policy and service development, undertaking research, service evaluation, and audit for own team/service. Working effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. About us

Lewisham CAMHS is a large community CAMHS service based over three locations in Lewisham & Catford. The ADHD Team is based in the modern and comfortable Kaleidoscope building in Rushy Green, close to a range of transport links and parking. Job Responsibilities
Leading the provision and delivery of the ADHD clinics provided by Lewisham CAMHS. Working as an independent and autonomous professional within professional guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service. Coordinating ADHD medication review and titration clinics in conjunction with the medical staff and other non-medical prescribers. Updating care and treatment plans in collaboration with the client/carer. Monitoring and assessing patients' physical health needs and providing interventions for these needs. Offering support to parents/carers and clients seeking help between clinic appointments. Liaising with schools regarding children and adolescents' progress at school and response to medication. Facilitating ADHD psychoeducation workshops for parents/carers and young people. Supporting the development of a Nurse-led ADHD medication clinic. Providing CAMHS assessments, using self-report measures, structured observations, and clinical interviews. Assessing and monitoring risk and drawing up appropriate risk management plans. Delivering evidence-based treatments and modifying interventions as needed. Communicating complex and sensitive information with CYP, parents, carers, and colleagues. Maintaining high standards of clinical record keeping and report writing. Ensuring services are acceptable and accessible to diverse communities. Acting as a named worker/care co-ordinator for high-risk and complex cases. Person Specification
Qualifications & Registration
First level nursing qualification (registration RMN or RSCN or HV) with related CAMHS experience. Non-medical prescriber with appropriate NMC registration. Professional registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council. MSc level qualification or equivalent with evidence of a comprehensive portfolio of post-registration professional development in child and adolescent mental health. Experience
Experience working as an independent non-medical prescriber with a CAMHS service. Experience of clinical leadership and providing clinical support for practitioners. Experience of CAMHS assessment and ADHD assessments. Experience of consultation to, and clinical supervision of, other staff. Experience of use QI methodology. Knowledge & Skills
Highly specialist knowledge of childhood disorders and theories of child development. Knowledge of legislation and national policy related to Looked After Children and mental health issues. Awareness of racial and diversity issues impacting service access. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as an autonomous practitioner.
