Job Summary We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health of our organisation and requires a proactive approach to credit management. Duties Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely payments are received. Conduct credit checks on new and existing clients to assess risk levels. Issue invoices and reminders for outstanding payments, following up as necessary. Maintain accurate records of all communications with clients regarding their accounts. Collaborate with the sales team to resolve any disputes or issues related to invoicing. Prepare regular reports on aged debtors and provide insights for management review. Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks to track payments and manage accounts payable efficiently. Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations regarding credit control. Experience Proven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role is essential. Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks, is highly desirable. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this position. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and conflict resolution is advantageous.
