An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, reliable and highly motivated individual to join our dedicated team at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, as a band 3 Admin Officer.

You will be part of a large clinical team providing a specialised, comprehensive and patient-centred clinical administration and secretarial service to the Nuclear Medicine team in accordance with department and Trust guidelines, policies or procedures. To act as a source of advice and guidance regarding the specialist work undertaken in the department.

It is essential the successful candidate enjoys working with people and has a genuine interest in patient care. You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, work well as part of a team, but also have the ability to use your initiative and work individually.

To provide a specialised, comprehensive and patient-centred clinical administration and secretarial service to Scientific/Medical Consultants and the Nuclear Medicine team in accordance with department and Trust guidelines, policies or procedures. To act as a source of advice and guidance regarding the specialist work undertaken in the department.

To ensure all clinical enquiries, from whatever source are effectively managed and successfully resolved within a prompt timescale ensuring all relevant personnel are informed as necessary and all appropriate records are maintained.

To ensure the effective organisation of all patient episodes under the care of the Nuclear Medicine & Vascular Ultrasound team in accordance with local/national policy and targets.

Action incoming and outgoing mail, E-mails or phone calls; prioritising and liaising with others appropriately.

Communicate with service users on behalf of the clinical teams including instructions relating to pre-test preparation/checks, test details and medication.

Welcome, receive and greet all patients and visitors to the area, providing the first point of direct contact for all service users, resolving routine enquiries and complaints professionally in accordance with local standards and procedures, and referring other queries to relevant colleagues where appropriate.

To follow and maintain an efficient office management system / procedures to enable the medical and scientific consultants and their team to optimise patient care.

To provide cross-cover on a reciprocal basis in the absence of colleagues, providing an efficient functioning of the admin office.
