We are a high performing organization with a track record of success. Radiology is a busy department providing X-ray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound services. We provide 24/7 diagnostic services to the rest of the hospital using both specific Radiology IT packages alongside Trustwide systems to provide integrated care. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced Admin lead to join our friendly team based within Radiology. The successful candidate should provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients and visitors, arrange appointments, liaise with all involved in the Imaging process to ensure the best service for our Patients. Ideally, you should possess excellent communication, organisational and investigative skills and have a flexible approach to tasks with experience working in a busy office environment. In addition, experience working within the NHS would be advantageous. Main duties of the job

To provide effective and confidential administrative support on a day-to-day basis for the clinical/admin teams within Radiology and to ensure that their needs are fully met, by working within demanding time constraints, prioritising your own workload, with minimal supervision and demonstrating ability to use initiative. The post holder will be responsible for supervision and coordination of the Administrative team at Durham (UHND). The post holder will need to be proactive, flexible and responsive to the changing needs and demands of the organisation and to support the smooth running of the services. Job responsibilities

Support the monitoring of service targets/performance standards and alert the Team Lead/Management to possible breaches. Organize training for staff members and monitor staff training records. The postholder will be responsible for supervision and coordination of the admin team. Maintain and produce SOPs for admin work streams. Handle queries, liaising with other departments and colleagues when necessary. Liaise regularly with secondary care staff, GP surgeries, etc. Liaise with Radiology appointments colleagues across the Trust to ensure best use of appointments. Deputize for the Admin Team Lead where necessary. Liaise with Radiographers across modalities to ensure booking plans meet service needs. Undertake sickness review meetings. Support data entry to ESR HealthRoster Circular Wave. The postholder may be required to undertake the role of Information Asset Administrator or Information Asset Owner to provide support for the control and administration of information assets within their area/department. The postholder will be required to undertake the role of Registration Authority Agent/Sponsor which includes supporting the NHS Care Records Service applications using smartcards and appropriate access files. Experience

Experience working in a busy office environment, dealing with issues as they arise and the ability to solve problems. Previous experience working within the NHS would be beneficial. Special Requirements

Ability to work as a member of a team. Good IT knowledge including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott Principles, understanding the requirement to maintain confidentiality. Ability to travel to local sites if required. Qualifications

Good standard of general education, minimum of 3 GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C or above, including English. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Administration (or working towards). Special Skills and Knowledge

Friendly, approachable and committed to providing quality patient care. Ability to work under pressure in a busy department. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate accurately both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people. Able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritise workload. Flexible approach to work and adaptable to change. Knowledge of NHS practices/procedures. Knowledge of Radiology systems. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
