If so, this could be the perfect role for you! The Anticoagulation Service is situated within Pathology at Chorley Hospital. We work across sites at Royal Preston Hospital and within the community at Bamber Bridge Clinic. You will be guided in your role by a fantastic, friendly team of Specialist Anticoagulant Nurses and Clinic Coordinators. Our aim is to find a conscientious and well-organised individual to support the service. Within this role you will have patient contact when assisting with clinics, therefore, excellent communication skills, a positive professional manner, and a drive to provide the best possible care for patients are essential qualities. As the Administrative Support for the Anticoagulation Service you will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills. In a polite and courteous manner, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective administrative role for the service, with strict adherence to Trust protocols, being aware of the need for confidentiality and compliance with information governance. You will play a key role in the day to day running for the service by performing data inputting, activating and discharging outpatient appointments, managing phone calls, greeting clinic patients and directing clinic flow. You must be flexible when working between office based and clinical environments, able to exercise initiative, and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism. You will need to be a self-motivated individual with proven administration skills, and be open and accessible to provide the required support for queries, advice and support to patients.Excellent IT skills will be essential in managing your workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. Duties to include but not limited to: Responding to external and internal telephone queries from staff, patients and others and referring to appropriate person. Communicating with a range of staff, patients, and visitors to the Trust, utilising a variety of communication methods. Data inputting for outpatient anticoagulant clinics. Activating and discharging clinic appointments in real time. Greeting patients and directing clinic flow. Working alongside clinic coordinators to provide administrative support. Day to day administration duties required for the service. Person Specification

Qualifications and Education

Educated to GCSE level Administrative Skills Numeracy and literacy skills NVQ level 2 Admin and Clerical ECDL or Equivalent Knowledge and Experience

Understanding of Information Governance, Data Quality and Confidentiality Previous exxperience of working with the public Previous experience in the NHS Experience of Harris Flex and other NHS systems Experience with MS Office 365 Skills and Ability

Good written and verbal communication skills Adaptable and flexible Good organisational skills Ability to work without close supervision in a pressurised environment. Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with people at all levels and across different disciplines. Attention to detail and accuracy. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
