You will provide effective support to our Acute Oncology Service and Inpatient ward with administrative duties.
You will support the services by recording clinical information on digital systems, assist patients and visitors with queries on a face-to-face basis, attend department meetings and take minutes, and record activity to produce reports and statistics according to KPI's.
To work unsupervised and act independently to manage your own workload, referring to the appropriate service leads when necessary. You will ensure the provision and delivery of high-quality, efficient, and effective services within areas of responsibility.

Main duties of the job
Support the Acute Oncology Service and Inpatient ward with administrative duties. Ensure the timely recording of clinical data and activity, report and escalate any IT or estate issues to the relevant helpdesks, liaise with all other services on site on behalf of the clinical teams. Cross-cover areas when staff are absent, be it planned or unplanned. Undertake delegated projects relevant to the area of responsibility and any Trust-initiated projects where deemed appropriate. Monitor activity and advise the Service Manager of any key concerns as they arise. Produce reports as required. Ensure adherence to waiting list policies and procedures. Provide non-clinical advice and information to patients and/or their relatives in accordance with confidentiality rules, including times, dates, or other particulars for appointments and/or admissions. Undertake clinical enquiries in preparation for admission and take on the responsibility to seek further clinical advice for more complex enquiries.
