UK Management College (UKMC) is looking for dynamic and confident individuals to join our team as a Student Administrator & Receptionist at our Newcastle Campus. This role combines administrative responsibilities with front-desk reception duties, offering a varied and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in supporting students, faculty, and visitors by providing excellent customer service and efficient administrative support. This is an office-based role located at our Newcastle campus.


Key Responsibilities

  • As a Student Administrator, you will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing student applications and identification documents to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Liaising with colleagues and students to coordinate interview schedules and admissions procedures.
  • Maintaining student records in databases, tracking details such as application status, personal information, and academic progression.
  • Assisting in Admissions-related events, including open days, orientation, and student recruitment activities.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Admissions Team under the supervision of the Administration Team Leader.

As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Greet students, staff, and visitors in a friendly, professional manner and ensure the reception area is welcoming and well-maintained.
  • Answer phone calls and emails, directing inquiries to the appropriate department or individual.
  • Manage appointments and bookings for meetings, interviews, and campus visits.
  • Distribute incoming mail and manage outgoing post.
  • Handle visitor sign-ins and ensure compliance with campus security protocols.


Essential Requirements

  • 1+ years of office-based experience in a receptionist or administrative role (preferably within the education sector).
  • Proven administrative skills: highly organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Multitasking abilities: able to juggle various tasks, such as managing student queries, coordinating interviews, and maintaining records.
  • Excellent communication skills: fluent in English, with the ability to deal confidently, tactfully, and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong IT skills: proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and quick to learn new systems.
  • Attention to detail: ability to process information accurately while working under pressure.
  • Discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Team player: able to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.
  • Flexibility: open to adapting work practices to suit changing business needs.
