Provide expert legal advice and support to the council’s Adult Social Care service, focusing on Court of Protection work, Care Act 2014 responsibilities, and Mental Health Act 1983 queries. Key Responsibilities: Advise internal clients on all aspects of Adult Social Care, including funding disputes and safeguarding responsibilities. Draft court applications to the Court of Protection, High Court, and County Court. Instruct counsel in relation to court proceedings and draft court orders. Conduct professional meetings, both roundtable and advocate meetings. Provide general adult social care and mental health legal advice. Supervise non-qualified staff and provide training and mentoring. Represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties.
