South-Integrated Community Occupational Therapy Team Adult Social Care Occupational Therapist Band 6 full time 37.5 hours per week (part time applicants welcome) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our South Staffordshire Integrated Community Occupational Therapy Team - Adult Social Care OT. Applicants would benefit from having worked in a social care Occupational Therapy role previously or have experience of the community setting. Main Duties of the Job

The Team supports adults within their own homes where the primary need is physical disability with long-term health conditions. The aim of OT intervention is to assist people to remain as independent as possible in the community and is an extremely rewarding role. Health Community OT colleagues are also a part of our team, and we work closely together as an integrated OT service providing the best possible outcomes for our service group. Knowledge of Moving and Handling people, specialist equipment, minor adaptation provision, and assistive technology would be beneficial. About Us

To adhere to and apply the Health and Care Professions Councils (HCPC) standards of proficiency and the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) code of ethics and professional conduct and all other relevant guidance from the HCPC, COT, and the Partnership Trust. To be professionally accountable and responsible for all aspects of own work. To maintain contemporaneous and accurate records as required by the Partnership Trust and in line with professional standards (i.e. HCPC). Support identified team members giving guidance and direction where appropriate. To have people management skills which incorporate compassionate and appreciative leadership. To identify own training/educational needs as part of the supervision and appraisal process. Attains and maintains an agreed level of expertise through ongoing training and development. To undertake tasks concerning the day-to-day organisation and operation of the team, working with the team leader as required. Person Specification

Qualifications & Training

Degree in occupational therapy or equivalent Registration with HCPC Fieldwork educator's accreditation Post qualification courses in working with older people and people with physical disabilities Attendance at relevant networks e.g. Special Interest Groups Up to date field work/pre-registration student training Modules at Masters level Evidence of further clinical study APPLE accreditation Membership of BAOT/COT Experience

Relevant experience to the role including assessment and interventions for a wide range of disabilities Ability to manage time and workload effectively Working in a multidisciplinary team Supporting service users, families, and carers in dealing with the impact of disability and life limiting conditions Experience of using standardised assessments and outcome measures Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations Disclosure and Barring Service Check
