£14,848.50 per annum

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will often be the first point of contact between the public and the service, gathering initial information, providing guidance and undertaking occupational therapy assessments, as well as signposting people to other services or prescribing small pieces of equipment to support them to maintain their independence and to live meaningful lives within the community. You will use a strengths-based approach to work alongside a variety of different clients with differing and/or complex needs. The role is diverse and will support your development by equipping you with a large range of skills to enable you to undertake holistic practice within a social care setting. This is a varied role, and on a day-to-day basis you can expect to be involved in: Supporting the OT team with regular duty cover under the direction of a qualified Occupational Therapist Supporting the Occupational Therapists with triaging cases Managing a caseload of non-complex cases relating to basic equipment needs under the direction of a qualified Occupational Therapist Working in partnership with individuals, their carers, professional staff in other agencies and service providers to support vulnerable adults and their families meet their needs and promote independence, choice and control Within the role you may work with any combination, or all, of the following care groups: older people, people with physical, sensory, cognitive impairments, people with a learning disability and people with mental health problems. valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle
and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.
