We are recruiting for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Children's Services who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. You will be practicing autonomously as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) within Children's Emergency Department and assessment area (CAU). This fantastic standalone CED/CAU has 4 majors bays, 2 HDU bays, 2 resus bays, with a co-located CAU and decision unit. Main duties of the job

This role encompasses the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout acute services. You will support a new way of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient-focused service, and will ensure the safe referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations across a service area. You will deliver an 80% clinical component to your role and 20% related to appraisal, clinical audit, teaching, self-development, development of the service, and research. Qualifications / Training

Relevant registered - professional qualification – RSCN MSc in advanced practice Clinical supervision training and experience Advanced Practice - Advanced non-medical prescribing Advanced Paediatric Life Support NMC’s 'Academic Assessors', 'Practice Supervisors', and 'Practice Assessors' accreditations. Recognised teaching qualification Recognised leadership qualification ALS/APLS Instructor Previous Experience

Significant acute care experience, including successful completion at trainee Advanced Practitioner level or equivalent Established Advanced Nurse/Clinical practitioner, relevant experience of service transformation. Portfolio of evidence showing achievements in practice/speciality Evidence of ability and knowledge on how to undertake audit and feedback Implementation of audit/research recommendations Evidence of audits undertaken and outcomes Evidence of presentations at local/national levels Experience in recruitment and retention matters, staff appraisal and performance management Commitment to the ongoing implementation of the Trust nursing and midwifery strategy. In-depth understanding of quality issues including clinical governance Evidence of involvement with primary research Skills/Knowledge

Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, written and verbal Nurse-led management of minor illness, minor ailments, and injuries Competent to ‘lead’ paediatric resuscitation APLS / EPALS standard Competent in managing acutely unwell CYP Experience of managing complex safeguarding cases Make independent clinical decisions Experience of chronic disease management Confidence to adapt to an evolving and changing service.
