We have an exciting opportunity to be part of Older Persons Medicine at The James Cook University Hospital. The ACP role is embedded in the medical workforce in Older Persons Medicine and you would be joining a team of ACPs, resident doctors, Nurse Consultant and Consultants to provide high quality, effective care to patients. Your working pattern will vary to meet service need and may include evenings (up to 9pm) and weekends.

We are looking to recruit a qualified ACP with experience in Older Persons Medicine. Candidates must have completed the ACP MSc programme and have a completed portfolio of professional development which evidences an advanced level of clinical practice in line with HEE (2017) framework for ACP along with evidence of ongoing professional development.

This role will be at an advanced clinical level in the direct delivery of high-quality care making critical clinical decisions based on advanced clinical skills assessment. Working effectively across all four pillars of advanced clinical practice as set out by Health Education England (2017).

Main duties of the job The post holder will be able to evidence all four pillars of the advanced clinical practice framework and benchmark to advanced clinical practice levels across all four pillars.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership and support within the nursing/AHP teams in developing the service to improve the patient experience.

You will be/have: Registered healthcare practitioner MSc in advanced Clinical Practice/Royal college credentialed/ HEE accredited ACP Completed portfolio of professional development which evidences an advanced level of clinical practice in line with HEE (2017) framework for ACP Independent non-medical prescribing Portfolio demonstrating continued professional development and ongoing assessments ILS/ALS provider.

After you complete these four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5 and 7.

Qualifications Essential

Completion of competencies that align to the Advanced Clinical Practice in Older People Curriculum Framework (HEE, 2022).

Knowledge Essential

Professional knowledge acquired through a professional qualification which enables registration with a health care regulating body. Supplemented by significant post-registration experience and specialist knowledge of the clinical area. Management skills gained through theory and/or significant practice experience Leadership skills

Desirable

Additional teaching qualification/experience Participation in audit/research/service evaluation
