Job summary

Redwell Medical Centre is looking for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner, either an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Paramedic, or Clinical Pharmacist. Ideally, the post holder will be an independent prescriber and have experience within Primary Care. The role is for 32 hours per week, spread over 4 days, ideally Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri.

Main duties of the job

The Clinician will be responsible for their own telephone and F2F clinics (mainly minor illness), manage the practice's two residential/nursing care homes which includes weekly ward rounds, as well as perform home visits as required.

The Clinician, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills for patients within general practice. They will be responsible for viewing, filing, and actioning laboratory results, making referrals, and reviewing clinical letters as necessary.

About us

We are a practice of 4 Partners, 3 of whom are GPs and 1 is an Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner. We currently have 3 other salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Specialist Nurse, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate, and 1 HCA. We are well supported by a Business Manager, Operations Manager, Office Manager, Admin Support Manager, and a friendly administration team. We also work closely with the PCN (Primary Care Network) and local Hub, using the services of a Pharmacist, Paramedic Home Visiting Service, Physiotherapists, CATCH team Nurses, and Social Prescribers.

We are an EMIS web practice with approximately 12,200 registered patients living in the Wellingborough area and surrounding villages. We are a successful, forward-thinking Practice with a track record of achievement.

The post holder will have their own clinics of booked minor illness appointments, as well as weekly care home ward rounds and home visits, as required.

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Professional Clinician with the NMC/HCPC/GPC Minor Illness qualification Desirable

Qualified independent prescriber Postgraduate diploma or degree (Advanced Practice Qualification) Experience

Desirable

Experience of working in Primary Care Disclosure and Barring Service Check
