Post graduate experience relevant to the wheelchair service Writing and handover of prescriptions for a wide range of wheelchairs and seating Managing own caseload Supervising junior staff Measuring and monitoring own performance and that of others Working in the community Interdisciplinary working Working to targets Personal competencies, attitudes and qualities
Ability to respond positively to unpredictable work patterns and frequent interruptions Ability to remain calm and professional with service users who may be emotionally and physically distressed Self-motivated and keen to develop self and team Assertive, credible and proactive with good problem solving skills Exhibits behaviours in line with AJM Values Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of a range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions Sound clinical reasoning skills Knowledge of 24 hour postural management and its impact on wheelchair and seating provision Knowledge of pressure ulcer avoidance and management An understanding of clinical governance Knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to current practice Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English) Strong interpersonal communication skills Strong time management and organisational skills Ability to use initiative and work independently without direct supervision Car driver with license valid for the UK Computer literate ability to use Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook, Excel effectively.
