We are seeking to recruit a qualified, registered Clinician to join our integrated clinical team. You will be conducting assessments with our NHS Wheelchair users in various settings within the surrounding areas ensuring outstanding customer experience is maintained throughout. You will showcase an empathic and resilient approach when faced with challenging situations with the ability to work collaboratively with our customer service, logistics, and the wider clinical teams. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of patients with a range of permanent wheelchair mobility, postural, and pressure relief needs. You will ensure best practice is maintained throughout whilst receiving professional guidance from the Clinical and Service Leads. Main duties of the job

Hold, prioritise, plan and organise your own caseload of service users, some of whom will have complex needs Provide high quality, service user focused assessment and prescription of manual wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs, buggies and seating Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promoting best practice and undertaking all aspects of clinical duties Provide highly advanced clinical advice to other members of the team; may act as lead for a specialism Possess highly developed expertise within the specialism of wheelchair services, underpinned by highly developed theoretical knowledge and experience Supervise and allocate work to rehabilitation assistants, rehabilitation engineering technicians, and foundation level clinicians Plan training sessions for internal staff and external healthcare professionals whilst co-ordinating a multi-disciplined team and manage projects when required. Experience

Post graduate experience relevant to the wheelchair service Writing and handover of prescriptions for a wide range of wheelchairs and seating Managing own caseload Supervising junior staff Measuring and monitoring own performance and that of others Working in the community Interdisciplinary working Working to targets Personal competencies, attitudes and qualities

Ability to respond positively to unpredictable work patterns and frequent interruptions Ability to remain calm and professional with service users who may be emotionally and physically distressed Self-motivated and keen to develop self and team Assertive, credible and proactive with good problem solving skills Exhibits behaviours in line with AJM Values Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of a range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions Sound clinical reasoning skills Knowledge of 24 hour postural management and its impact on wheelchair and seating provision Knowledge of pressure ulcer avoidance and management An understanding of clinical governance Knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to current practice Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English) Strong interpersonal communication skills Strong time management and organisational skills Ability to use initiative and work independently without direct supervision Car driver with license valid for the UK Computer literate ability to use Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook, Excel effectively. Use of electronic patient record systems Audit and research/evaluation Access to a private vehicle for work purposes Qualifications

BSc or diploma in occupational therapy, physiotherapy or engineering HCPC registration Post graduate training to M-level in managing service users with complex conditions, or the willingness to study at this level Evidence of relevant continuing professional development Member of relevant special interest group Disclosure and Barring Service Check
