If so, come and join the therapy department at Queen Victoria Hospital as part of our therapy team within Burns/Plastics/Head and Neck where you'll be supported as you shape and empower recovery. The role covers three inpatient clinical areas of Burns for acute, rehabilitation and outpatient management, Major head and neck cancer surgery cases providing input for post operative rehabilitation and tracheostomy management and plastic surgery rehabilitation after breast and reconstructive surgeries. You will work within established MDTs directly within a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and pressure garment technicians. This post has direct peer support via two other band 7’s within the team as well as the Therapy Services Manager. You will provide input to clinical governance meetings and work on service development within the clinical areas. You must have excellent clinical skills, be proactive and self-motivated, but most importantly have a passion for maintaining high standards of care for our patients. Main duties of the job
You will be a Physiotherapist who can deliver advanced clinical assessments and treatments to a caseload of adult patients on rehabilitation pathways. Your role will include creating and delivering bespoke training to less experienced therapists, students, support workers and the wider MDT. In the wider MDT you will work alongside Speech and language therapist, Dietitians, Nursing Team, Psychological Therapists, Medical Colleagues (including Surgeons, Anaesthetists and Intensivists). This diverse range of professionals gives access to excellent in house training driven by a range of highly experienced clinicians. To be an inspirational and compassionate leader who will join together departmental initiatives with peers across our seven other therapy teams based at QVH. As the joint lead of the team you will have the opportunity to evaluate the service, choosing and implementing developments across the service that correlate with the evolving caseload and wider therapies department needs. The role involves both clinical and management responsibilities which include completing PDR’s, development of staff, performance management and recruitment and workforce planning. Qualifications
Masters level degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent experience. Evidence of relevant postgraduate education and training Experience
Significant postgraduate clinical experience in relevant field. Experience in delivering clinical education and supervision to staff and students. Experience of working as part of a therapy and/or multidisciplinary team. Knowledge
Highly specialised knowledge and experience of assessment, evaluation and treatment techniques in relevant specialist field relating to a client centred approach.
