The Advanced Practitioner (Mathematics) will work across multiple secondary schools within The Consortium Academy Trust, with a prime focus on coaching and developing both specialist and non-specialist mathematics teachers. The role will emphasise the implementation of evidence-based teaching practices, such as Direct Instruction, and the successful candidate will play a strategic role in embedding these methodologies to enhance teaching quality and learner outcomes. Reporting to the Trust Director of Mathematics, the postholder will lead professional development, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and retain a direct teaching commitment.
Main purpose of the role: Lead coaching and development for both specialist and non-specialist mathematics teachers across the Trust. Champion the use of Direct Instruction, particularly Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction, to enhance teaching quality. Improve learner outcomes by driving best practices in mathematics teaching. Collaborate with the Trust Director of Mathematics to design and implement high-quality, consistent curricula. Maintain a teaching commitment, modelling excellent practice for colleagues.
