NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit an Advanced Practitioners / Trainee Advanced Practitioner. As an Advanced / Trainee Advanced Practitioner you will work autonomously across Primary, Community and Acute Services during the in and out of hours period, covering seven days including public holidays. You will be responsible for the clinical decision making for the population including assessment and treatment of patients across the Primary, Community and Acute settings. The Advanced / Trainee Advanced Practitioner will work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and medical staff including the OOH Hub and Acute Services. Communicate on a daily basis about any patient they have seen overnight or at the weekend and who needs to be followed up by the GP or Acute Services during normal working hours. The Advanced / Trainee Advanced Practitioner provides assessment, clinical care and management of both stable and acutely unwell patients and their families, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care. Medical telehealth/telephone support will be available when required from an identified source. NHS Lanarkshire

Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration. Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level. Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice and expertise within specialty/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty. Advanced specialist knowledge of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the specialty/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilized to deliver leadership within specialty. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in specialty and applying clinical judgment. Evidence of further developed knowledge in management and/or leadership. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills. Working knowledge of basic information technology. This role will be based in the ANP Team within University Hospital Hairmyres. The working pattern for this role: Rotational shift pattern involving weekends and nights. Can be varying hours (7.5 hours or 12-hour shift pattern). Looking to find out more?
