As an Advanced Research Scientist you will drive innovation within a dynamic early research team, focusing on advancing technologies in cancer genomics. This lab-based role contributes to the development of impactful solutions in cancer diagnostics through the exploration of emerging technology, such as circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) analysis and next-generation sequencing (NGS). In this role you will lead the identification and evaluation of emerging technologies and platforms as well as conceptualizing and implementing novel methods to address critical clinical needs. The Advanced Research Scientist is responsible for communicating complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and translating cutting-edge research into impactful solutions. Responsibilities
Identify and review emerging technologies, platforms, or novel research in the cancer diagnostics space that may address the prioritized clinical needs identified by the company. This may come from all areas including biotech and academia and will have a particular focus on NGS. Work with legal teams to identify and protect patentable inventions and contribute to IP strategy. Support the filing and management of patents based on research discoveries. Where required, conceptualize and implement new methods to address the prioritized clinical needs identified by the company. Evaluate competitors’ platforms and technologies to identify gaps or opportunities in the market. In collaboration with bioinformatic counterparts, design and perform feasibility studies for the new technologies, platforms or inventions to evaluate their scientific and commercial viability along with initial operational suitability. Work with external and internal teams to identify and obtain clinical/test samples required for successful project completion. Education, Experience & Qualifications:
