The post is based within Critical Care at Royal Stoke University Hospital and involves working with a range of disciplines as part of the dynamic and innovative Critical Care Rehabilitation Team. The post holder will manage a varied caseload of patients with communication difficulties and dysphagia, arising from a range of aetiologies. We welcome applications from therapists who have experience of working with ventilator dependent patients, tracheostomy, Videofluoroscopy of swallowing (VFS) and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). Our combined goal is to provide an excellent standard of care across all pathways, with patient welfare being at the heart of everything we do.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of the Speech and Language Therapy team within Critical Care at The Royal Stoke University Hospital. This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to work closely within the multi-disciplinary team, treating a variety of patients from different specialities such as trauma, general surgery, neurosurgery and respiratory.

Qualifications
Essential
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent. Experience in the NHS Registration with HCPC and RCSLT Post Graduate RCSLT accredited dysphagia course or equivalent
Desirable
Masters qualification in relevant area that will support the delivery of the service.
