We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate English teacher with high-level technical abilities to contribute to innovating English delivery, enabling the College to become a centre of excellence. Reporting to the Head of School, English, you will be responsible for implementing teaching strategies to enable students to develop skills in English and achieve high grades. The successful applicant will be passionate about teaching English and developing students as curious learners who will become fluent in the technical complexities of English, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. They will inspire students to appreciate the richness and diversity of the English language. You will be responsible for teaching English to at least GCSE Level, A Level, and potentially Degree level, acting as a role model and working with other teaching staff to develop their technical teaching skills. Our students join us from a variety of educational backgrounds, including secondary education, home education, and adult education, where they have not achieved the basic level of a Grade C or Grade 4/5 English qualification. Some require English qualifications to progress to the next level of education, while others need the qualification to advance in their work life or chosen career. Some may have lost interest in the subject but still need the qualification. As part of their study programmes, it is essential they undertake their English qualifications, and they seek your expertise to help them achieve their goals and career aspirations. Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have proven successful experience of teaching KS4/KS5 and above with outstanding value-added outcomes within the public or private sector, alongside experience enabling students to achieve higher grades. A degree in English Language, Literature, or a combined subject is essential, as well as UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Benefits
