We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Agricultural Engineer to join a food manufacturing business in Newport (Shropshire) and work within their busy Workshop carrying out Mechanical maintenance duties on Agricultural Machinery and Equipment.

The hiring manager is looking for someone who has previous experience with Hydraulics, Low Voltage Electrics, and pneumatics; previous MIG/TIG Welding experience is preferred but not essential.

The working hours are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday, and during the peak season, you would be required to work on a Saturday (which will be on a rotating rota basis). The salary for this role is up to £45,000 per annum basic, and any hours worked over 48 hours will be paid at T1/4 overtime premium.

This role would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Workshop Engineer, Farm Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Service Engineer, or Field Service Engineer who has worked within an Agricultural or Food Manufacturing business.

What You Will Do

Ensure all relevant documents are filled in correctly and on time. Carry out routine maintenance work, including changing fluids and lubricating parts, on a diverse range of equipment. Inspect, remove, and replace machinery following manufacturers' guidelines. Demonstrate skill and aptitude in completing assigned tasks, with the ability to plan and prioritize work safely and effectively. Assist in the development and testing of new and existing machinery, including machining parts and building new machines within the workshop environment. Ensure adherence to company hygiene policy and safety standards, reporting any equipment faults or health and safety concerns immediately. What You Will Bring

Proven experience in machinery maintenance and engineering within the agricultural sector. Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a focus on safety and efficiency. A team-oriented attitude, willing to support new employees and work with respect and dignity towards all. A commitment to maintaining high standards of work and a conscientious approach to all tasks.
