About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of commercial farm risks, handling both new business and renewals. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients in the agricultural sector, from family-owned farms to large-scale commercial enterprises. Key Responsibilities: Risk Assessment and Underwriting:

Evaluate and underwrite commercial farm risks in line with company guidelines and underwriting authority. Assess risks for new business and renewal submissions. Ensure appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions are applied to policies. Portfolio Management:

Manage a portfolio of commercial farm risks, ensuring profitability and growth. Analyse portfolio performance and adjust underwriting strategies as needed. Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs). Client and Broker Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients. Work closely with brokers to understand client needs and provide tailored insurance solutions. Attend client and broker meetings as required. Market Knowledge:

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, agricultural practices, and regulatory changes that impact farm insurance. Provide insights into emerging risks and opportunities within the agricultural sector. Compliance:

Ensure all underwriting activities comply with internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements. Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with colleagues across underwriting, claims, and risk teams to deliver exceptional service. Mentor junior underwriters and share expertise. Key Requirements: Experience:

Proven experience in agricultural or commercial insurance underwriting, with a focus on farm risks preferred. Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of agricultural practices, farm operations, and associated risks. Skills: Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Qualifications: Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., Dip CII, ACII) are advantageous. Attributes: Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven.
