Due to continued successes, the 4R Group are recruiting for a full time Agricultural Recycling Manager based in the North of England to join the team. The job holder is responsible for the day to day management and delivery of our recycling service contracts. This involves liaison with both our producer and farmer clients, supervising land-spreading activities, sourcing & securing new farm outlets, assist with planning and directing HGV movements.
You will also need to gather and prepare the information required for the technical team to submit permit applications to the regulatory body, such as land topography, previous fertiliser applications, cropping details, site assessments, risk assessments & method statements, soil sampling etc.
To provide competent advice and guidance to our farmer clients, as well as ensuring Health and Safety requirements are met and all aspects of environmental compliance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities – What you need to do.
Supervision and day-to-day management of the recycling service
Interact effectively with clients, land-owners, suppliers and environmental regulators
Securing suitable outlets for recycling operations (agricultural land or land restoration sites)
Manage sub-contractors and land-spreading applications
Carry out field pollution risk assessments, mapping, data collection for EA permits, post application inspections, stockpile storage management, RAMS etc.
Collection and submission of soil, water and product samples for laboratory analyses
Assist with the organising & manage HGV movements between client production sites and recycling outlets
Responsible for cost control and operating within contract budgets
Ensuring all activities comply with applicable regulations, defined Health & Safety standards, 4R Quality Management Systems and ISO accreditations

Personal Specification – What you should have.
Qualifications / Experience/ Knowledge
Agricultural experience/knowledge required
An understanding of the benefits of by-products as fertilisers and soil conditioners advantageous
Knowledge of environmental issues affecting soils, air & water
Experience of contract management
FACTS qualification would be an advantage
Basic understanding of the waste regulatory environment in the UK
IT: user of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and used to mobile/flexible working environment
Skills/Competencies
Excellent service and communication – verbal and written - skills
Commitment to relationship management and client satisfaction
Excellent attention to detail especially for record keeping
Good planning, organising and time management skills
Full clean driving licence & Right to Work in UK.
Pay and Benefits
Salary -
£30,000 to £35,000 per annum depending upon experience, reviewed after 6 months.
