This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of healthcare by supporting the education and development of students across several disciplines, including Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Dietetics, with a focus on Physiotherapy. You will be based at Peterborough City Hospital with occasional attendance at teams across other Trust sites.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about teaching and sharing their knowledge and experience. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, self-motivated professional role model with excellent organisational skills and recent experience as a practice educator. Strong communication and relationship-building with practice placement educators and external stakeholders are key to success in this role.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities include:

Provide visual support and guidance to pre-registration students, apprenticeships, and those returning to practice. Collaborate with clinical teams to implement non-traditional placement models, enhancing and expanding placement capacity across the four professions, with a focus on Physiotherapy. Work across three hospital sites to facilitate placements, training, and education for re-registration students. Partner with the AHP Practice Educator to ensure high-quality practice placements for pre-registration students. Foster strong relationships with practice placement educators and external stakeholders.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential Current HCPC registered Physiotherapist Completed HEI Practice Education training within last 2 years

Desirable Teaching qualification

Experience

Essential Recent and regular Practice Educator of pre-registration students Experience of planning and co-ordination wider than own workload Evidence of previous teaching experience both informal and formal Experience of supervising staff

Desirable Experience of formal leadership training Experience of recruiting

Knowledge

Essential Knowledge of AHPs and associated student training for the four professions within Rehabilitation Services Learning styles and application to practice Understand the AHP placement capacity expansion priorities and AHP Educator Career Framework. Knowledge of placement models. Knowledge of creating monthly Educators report. Basic components of managing an action plan for a student Knowledge of audit, risk, and governance

Other requirements

Essential Car driver / owner to ensure ability to travel and work across a variety of sites to include Peterborough City Hospital, Stamford Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital, HEI's others as the service requires. Willingness and ability to maintain clinical competence e.g. via FSS Awareness and respect for colleagues, patients and relatives cultural, religious and emotional needs and beliefs. Good previous attendance record
