Learn more about what we do. Our powerful, award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. Diversity, equity & inclusion are integral parts of our culture and drivers of innovation at Keysight. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers. The advent of O-RAN (Open Radio Access Network) marks a significant shift in the mobile communication industry towards an open, virtualized, and disaggregated architecture. A key enabler of this paradigm shift is the Radio Access Network (RAN) Intelligent Controller (RIC), a software-defined component designed to optimize RAN operations. The disaggregation of the RAN, facilitated by open and standardized interfaces, allows multivendor interoperability and opens the door for third-party applications (xApps, rApps) that can automate and optimize network operations at scale. The RIC presents a significant advancement beyond traditional Self-Organizing Networks (SON) by providing enhanced flexibility, programmability, and intelligence. However, testing and developing AI/ML algorithms for such complex networks is challenging and costly within traditional lab environments. Thus, at Keysight we are evolving our RAN digital twin platforms to facilitate speed up this algorithmic development. Responsibilities You will be working with an active team of applied researches looking at O-RAN digital twins to model 5G and future 6G RAN functions. The focus of the work will be on prioritised O-RAN use cases where a need for AI/ML algorithms to facilitate near real time optimisations has been identified. You will develop such algorithms and validate with our digital twins. You will have access to our 6G state-of-the-art laboratory with equipment, simulators, emulators, and digital twin platforms to carry out experimentation and development. Qualifications You are studying towards a master's or PhD in Computer Science or related areas (e.g. Electrical Engineering) You have knowledge of low-level programming languages like C, and have basic knowledge of OO, for instance, using C++ language You have good knowledge of Open RAN and 5G technologies You are interested in the future of 6G You are interested in the application of AI/ML algorithms to optimize cellular network resources It's a plus if: You are familiar with software development to automate computer tasks You have used some control-version software (git, svn, etc.) You are familiar with working with Linux operating systems ***Keysight is an Equal Opportunity Employer.***
